‘Hi-Tech at the Grove a Golden Opportunity’ – Lifestyle SA Building to 12 Villages Worth $1 Billion by 2010 (The Advertiser, May 25, 2007, p. 60)

The flagship project of housing developer Lifestyle SA is rapidly taking shape at north-eastern Adelaide’s Golden Grove, with the first residents moving into the $140 million lifestyle village late last year.
Lifestyle SA development director Stephen Norris says the village is the first retirement housing estate for Golden Grove’s over-55s.
Cutting edge technology – including fibre-optic cabling and a closed-circuit camera system that enables residents to identify visitors before allowing them access to the village – has been incorporated into all homes at Golden Grove, while construction of a 100-bed nursing home on adjoining land will soon begin and is due for completion with the rest of the project by 2010.
Lifestyle SA was established in 2000 when the state’s largest home builder and land subdivider Gordon Pickard joined forces with prominent retirement village developers Stephen and Roxanne Norris. By 2010, the joint venture operators expect to have built more than 2000 homes in 12 villages across the state, with an estimated value of $1 billion.
