‘Retirees Take on Big Business’ – Massive ABC Audience Hears Allegations of Villages Overcharging (Hall, A. PM, ABC Radio, May 07, 2008)

Broadcast last month on the ABC’s nightly PM program, aired on both Radio National and ABC Local Radio, this report follows a similar vein to the Sunday Mail story – host Mark Colvin declaring: “An unlikely war is being waged in some of Australia’s retirement villages. People in their 80s have been taking on some of the country’s biggest companies over allegations of over-charging and double-dipping on fees.”
Featuring interviews with Philip Phillips from the Association of Residents of Queensland Retirement Villages and Aged Care Queensland’s Allan Pidgeon, the story has been reproduced for you in full at the end of The Village Manager.
