Aged Care facility proposed for heritage-listed CSIRO Yarralumla site in Canberra

A new masterplan proposed for the heritage-listed CSIRO Yarralumla site in Canberra in the ACT includes the possibility of it becoming an aged care facility.

The CSIRO Yarralumla site comprises about 12.85 hectares of land that includes groups of buildings, including the former Australian Forestry School buildings that are clustered around an oval, plant nursery and arboretum.

The new masterplan also proposes the area, which is included in the Commonwealth Heritage List, could be home to residential apartments and a hotel if an application to amend Commonwealth planning rules is successful.
