The redevelopment project will deliver 430 independent living apartments and a 115-bed high care facility, with the final stage proposed to be completed in 2028.
The $55M first stage was completed in July with two multi-storey residential buildings, Parkland and Sanctuary.
Established in 1985 at Banchory Court behind Westfield Carindale, the low-level apartments will give way to eight towers from six to 10 storeys constructed in six stages, becoming the largest retirement community in the southeast suburbs.
Aveo Chief Executive Officer Geoff Grady said, “We’re thrilled that the first stage of the Aveo Carindale redevelopment is now completed and its first residents are calling the community home.”
Mr Grady said after unprecedented demand from retiree buyers, Aveo fast-tracked the release of additional independent living apartments within the first stage to market.
