Perhaps a sign of things to come in Australia, aged care operator Bupa continues to expand in NZ with a focus on the blend of care packaged with retirement villages. In June they purchased two Oceana properties that integrated aged care and village facilities. They have since purchased another three care facilities from Oceana. All up they operate 52 aged care facilities with 3,400 residents and 23 retirement villages consisting of 900 units (ave. 40 units each). NZ has 19% of the population of Australia.
