2 min read

The annual Property Council’s National Retirement Living Summit will take place in Brisbane from 18-20 June, featuring the prestigious Retirement Living Council’s Awards.

Four employees from retirement living operators have been named finalists in the Community Leadership category, which recognises staff who work directly within a retirement community and demonstrate outstanding leadership.

The nominees are:

Sabrina Brar, Village Manager, Anglicare

"Sabrina is a future leader in retirement living, placing the holistic wellbeing of residents at the forefront by fostering community connections and promoting active lifestyles. She embraces technology to enhance the resident experience while maintaining a personal touch. Focused on inclusivity and engagement, Sabrina champions innovative programs that empower residents and enrich their lives. A strong communicator with empathy and vision, Sabrina is transforming her village into a vibrant, supportive environment where each resident is celebrated for their unique contributions," states her employer.

Teneille Elsey, Client Support Officer, Living Choice Home Care

"Aged 33, Teneille is a shining star at LC HomeCare. Since leaving a career in dentistry and joining our team, her team-oriented approach and commitment to growth have seen Teneille become a dedicated advocate for the rights of our residents. Teneille’s innovative thinking, mentorship, and leadership set a new standard of care for the sector and are a source of inspiration for our Home Care teams. Teneille is an amazing role model," said her employer.

Allis Petith, Village Manager, Levande Castle Ridge

"Allis’ positive, can-do attitude has enabled her to change the culture within her village. She has brought a new level of professionalism to the team and developed a service culture where the residents are the focus. Allis is highly engaged, actively participating in meetings not just at the village level, but also company-wide forums. In recognition of Allis’ outstanding efforts, she was promoted to Senior Village Manager on our Cambridge project, a new 28-storey tower under construction in Epping," said the operator.

Lee Story, Sales Manager, Aveo Forest Grove

"From humble beginnings as a ‘temperature checker’ during the COVID pandemic, Lee has emerged as Aveo’s top Sales Manager with the highest volume of resident move-ins during 2024. He shows empathy and compassion as a trusted advisor, focusing on relationships over sales. Enthusiasm and a solution-focused approach drive his exceptional performance," said Aveo.
