Historic Syndal pool in Monash (VIC) demolished for $25 million retirement village

1 min read

The longstanding but “dilapidated” swim centre (pictured) – established by ex-Olympic diver Ron Faulds in 1961 and located 23.5 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD – was demolished to make way for a new village development by Pace Development Group.

The 83-unit village will include 19 one-bedroom and 64 two-bedroom units, with an overall building height of up to seven storeys.

The Monash site will be the first retirement village for Pace, which specialises in residential and commercial property development.
