1 min read

With the theme of ‘strengthening the future of care’, AlayaCare’s 2023 Better Outcomes conference, held on Tuesday, was an opportunity to reflect on how far the sector has come and to discuss some of the exciting ways technology can assist with care in the future.

AlayaCare General Manager ANZ, Annette Hili, told The SOURCE, “We have a real opportunity to take the care sector to the next level. With the advancements in technology and AI, there are a lot of good things that we can do.

“We need to be willing to take some risks. We need to be willing to fail and learn from it in order to really create the future of care that's going to be better for everyone.”

In the keynote address, Anchor Excellence Managing Director, Cynthia Payne, commented on the latest Sector Performance Data which showed no sanctions were issued in the June quarter

As the Government rolls out sweeping reforms to the sector, Annette said providers have “stepped up” and are “implementing new ways of operating”.

Aged care operators are “doing some great work”, she said, adding that there are “still more opportunities”.

AlayaCare demonstrated its natural language AI powered chat bot named Layla at the conference, showing how the tool can summarise data in the client profile to create natural language summaries and can engage in dialogue about clinical risks. The tool will be officially rolled out in the new year and is expected to support providers in harnessing AI-based technology to drive efficiencies in the industry.

The SOURCE: The ageing population means aged care operators will have to become more efficient in how they deliver care – technology is the key to unlocking that potential.
