Practical plans to respond to social isolation among older Australians will be on the agenda
when the inaugural Ministerial Conference of Ageing meets tomorrow.
Involving Federal, State and Territory ministers, as well as the New Zealand Minister for Senior
Citizens and Australian Local Government Association, the conference will mark the first
assembly of all those responsible for seniors’ issues.
The Minister for Ageing Justine Elliot will convene the meeting in Kingscliff, northern New
South Wales – a region with one of the highest proportions of older people in Australia.
