Speaking at the National Press Club last week, Ita Buttrose stated more than one quarter of aged care residents were “”chemically restrained” with anti-psychotic. She said: ”Perhaps there could be no better area than this for a class action”. She is president of Alzheimer’s Australia.

Ingenia CEO Simon Owen has continued to seek low cost assets that deliver 15%+ returns with the purchase of another manufactured home park, his second on the Central Coast north of Sydney, called Ettalong Beach Holiday Village. At the same time he has introduced the new brand Active Lifestyle Estates, which will specialise in the ‘affordable accommodation end of the market. Ingenia has the Settlers brand for DMF villages and the Gardens brand for rental villages. Ettalong was purchased for $2.1M and comprised a mix of holiday and permanent tenant rentals. It will deliver an 18.4% cash yield. It has 85 units and 28 unit development upside awaiting council approval.
