Prime Trust has sold the Veronica Nursing Home, located in their big Brentwood retirement village on the Central Coast of NSW, for $8.5 million, a $1.5 million or 18% reduction on its book value. They also have six aged care and four retirement village properties for sale. At the same time they have opened a new, luxury aged care facility in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast.

The ABCs Four Corners program reviewed the negative experience of four families with the aged care complaints system, called the Complaints Investigation Service (CIS). ACSA CEO Greg Mundy was also interviewed extensively but little got to air. In 2007-8 CIS investigated 7,496 complaints with only 930 cases (12%) resulting in a finding of breaches of an aged care providers responsibilities. ACSA itself is critical of the CIS, saying it does not adequately resolve complaints for anyone involved. ACSA has sent a fact sheet to all Federal MPs calling for an independent complaints authority and arbitration system.
