Residents are feeling the fortnightly fee squeeze – which is fuelling tribunal fights

Published on

41% of residents across Australia are finding their weekly fees ‘a little expensive’ to ‘very expensive’, according to the McCrindle Baynes Villages Census (sampling 10,606 residents). This is double the number who were already struggling with the fees when they joined their village. This pressure explains the jump in tribunal actions as every contract and PID is now being analysed to identify costs that can be shifted from residents to the operator. The result: every state is now looking at its legislation with terms of reference favouring the residents.
