Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) is a multidisciplinary practice combining architecture, interior design and urban design. With studios in Melbourne and Sydney, we partner with our clients both nationally and internationally to produce architecture that enrich people’s lives.

BLP commenced practice in 1995 with a strong foundation in multi-residential design. Together with our extensive world-renowned experience in health, our cross-sector design intelligence informs better outcomes for projects of varying scales and complexities for the ageing population.

We strive to produce a new paradigm in aged care and retirement living that is tailored to suit the needs of our clients, residents and their communities.

BLP understand there is no “one size fits all” solution when it comes to seniors living. Our innovative design approach means we can deliver more choice and tailored outcomes for the ageing population to support them to live independently with care.

We create vibrant and engaging seniors living environments that complement and enhance people’s lives, with a focus on sustaining wellness at every stage.

Our designs recognise the profound effect our environment has on our health and wellbeing. Our continual research into the principles of Universal Design, Design for the Elderly, and specifically Design for Dementia, informs every aspect of our approach.

Partnering with our client plays an important role in our design process. Our designs for seniors living residences respond to their local contexts and are relevant to their communities.

We believe contemporary residential design should be timeless. We create home-like environments designed for operational efficiency that ensure places are enjoyable for the residents and staff alike. These promote independence, movement and health, while providing safety and security for all. Our experience in designing Care environments has taught us that operational efficiencies are vital to a successful design, and can be concealed within thoughtful interiors.

With a team of more than 140 people, our practice has a strong belief in the benefits of diversity and collaboration for innovation. Our diverse team brings a comprehensive set of insights from international cultures and work experience, multi-generational perspectives, and gender perspectives of all orientations, to inform the design of truly welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone, regardless of age, level of ability or background.
