With power bills already cut by up to 30% it is highly likely the nine homes for sale at the Over 50s lifestyle community in Clyde North, 46km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD will be snapped up quickly.
Lifestyle Communities Co-Founder and Managing Director James Kelly, Mondo General Manager Distributed Energy Dhammika Adihetty and Victoria Government's Lily D'Ambrosio, Minister for Climate Action, Energy, and Resources, made the announcement on 27 March 2024.
The initiative marks the largest of its kind residential microgrid in Australia, providing new standards in sustainable shared living, Mondo state.
“Mondo has designed a unique solution for this community, including rooftop solar systems and a community battery, which will provide homeowners with clean and affordable energy. We worked closely with Lifestyle Communities to craft a sustainable and innovative renewable energy solution, advancing a shared commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.” said Dhammika.
Lifestyle Meridian residents can now monitor the performance of the microgrid in real time, ensuring transparency and empowerment in their energy usage through Mondo’s Ubi portal that is installed within their villages central shared facility.
