Bundaberg woman Heather Mansell-Brown is being sued for defamation over social media posts she made to her 167 followers about the Millmerran Centenary Retirement Village, on the Darling Downs and its clinical care manager and director of nursing Maxine Noone, the Courier-Mail reports.
In October 2017, Ms Mansell-Brown posted several comments saying the facility had been subject to complaints of “staff bullying, forging signatures” and “miss use (sic) of medication” and should “be thinking of sacking your incompetent DON (Director of Nursing), president and board members that does not have the interest in or consideration of the elderly and their welfare...”
Ms Mansell-Brown also allegedly made comments about Ms Noone’s drinking and drug use – prompting Ms Noone to lodge defamation action against Ms Mansell-Brown in the Queensland Supreme Court in 2018.
Ms Noone says her reputation has been injured – she is seeking aggravated damages from the court.
