Audley Group and Apache Capital have announced a new joint venture to build a 13,750sqm £125M retirement village in the affluent suburb of Clapham in London.

The village will be one of the first in central London, and is being billed as just the second luxury development for the UK capital.

The partnership plan to build a number of similar developments over the coming years, with Apache providing the land and Audley developing the site.

Co-founder and managing director of Apache Capital Richard Jackson said he wanted to have more exposure to the retirement living sector.

Government figures show that one in five people in the UK is predicted to be over 65 in 10 years’ time.
