The continuing entry of new companies entering the over 50s land lease community sector is understandable if you take a look at this scenario.
Thyme Lifestyle Resort Evans Head owner Serenitas held its "Final Open Day" on Saturday (12 June) and 50 people came through the gates to look at the 14 remaining homes for sale. A two-bedroom, two bathroom property with multi purpose room, two car garage, is priced from $808,000 at the over-50s lifestyle resort built on 8ha within walking distance of the beaches of Evans Head. It is also offering up to $25,000 for buyers who settle by 19 December 2025.
Thyme Lifestyle Resort Evans Head is self-described as a "boutique community" with just 164 homes. The first homeowners moved into the resort in March 2022 and there has been a 53% rise in home sales value through the project with a reduced sell-through from six years to 3.5 years. The clubhouse opened in May 2024. MDE were the Development Managers and Civil Design consultant for the project.
Von Slater, CEO of Serenitas, believes the strong sales momentum reflects the resort’s alignment with market demand. The first homeowners moved into the resort in May 2022.
“The remarkable sell-through at Thyme Evans Head is a true testament to the fact that we’re meeting the growing needs and wants of downsizers seeking a sea change. The opportunity to live in such a unique location, with limited land available in Evans Head, makes this a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be part of a lifestyle resort in one of New South Wales' most charming coastal towns. It's an experience that blends tranquility, community, and access to everything you love about coastal living,” Von said.
Thyme Lifestyle Resort Evans Head has been recognised for its outstanding design and strong community spirit, earning Silver awards for both Land Lease Community of the Year 2024 and Community Engagement. Now, the community is a finalist in two categories at the upcoming UDIA National Awards - for Excellence in Retirement Living and Regional Development.
Serenitas, which is owned by Mirvac and Australian private equity groups Pacific Equity Partners and Tasman Capital Partners, owns and operates 30 lifestyle communities across Australia.
