2020 has created unique challenges for retirement community operators.
DCM Research is leading three separate but integrated studies to help guide the sector’s response to these challenges with quality data.
The DCM 2020 Prospect Profile
The DCM 2020 Prospect Profile seeks to understand the evolving accommodation and services needs for Australians aged 60+. It identifies key barriers for potential residents considering retirement communities and uncovers opportunities for the sector to improve.
The Prospect Profile comes in two parts:
- 1. Exploratory research from 40 face to face interviews.
- 2. Quantitative survey from 2,000 online and 200 telephone interviews.

DCM 2020 National Resident Survey
The DCM 2020 National Resident Survey is the largest retirement survey in the world. It helps operators analyse their residents and benchmark their community against the sector.
Each participating village will receive:
- Final report in hard and soft copy (175 pages+)
- Net Promoter Score (NPS) for each village and operator.
- ResiRating - Score out of five for village and marketing purposes.
- Resident satisfaction score out of 100.
The DCM 2020 National Resident Survey is in the field 24 September 2020.

DCM Regulatory Compliance Surveys
DCM has designed a separate independent survey to help retirement communities demonstrate they are operating to minimum industry standards. The survey is tailored to NSW Rules of Conduct and the National Code of Conduct for retirement villages.
DCM conducts the survey, collates the results and delivers the data.
