Anglicare to bring aged care home in Sydney’s northwest back to life

1 min read

The Not For Profit faith-based operator today announced it has signed a lease for the former Wesley Rayward site in Carlingford, 22km northwest of Sydney's CBD, which will be recommissioned and is expected to welcome new residents into 74 rooms in 2026.

Anglicare Carlingford House will take the number of aged care homes operated by Anglicare Sydney to 24.

Simon Miller, CEO of Anglicare Sydney said: “The signing of this lease reflects our approach to delivering aged care that’s personal in response to the evolving needs of Australia’s ageing population.”

Wesley Mission announced the closure of three aged care homes, including Wesley Rayward, in April 2023.

Wesley Mission CEO, Rev Stu Cameron, said, “We’re delighted Anglicare will provide aged care on this site, which for many years was home to Wesley Rayward Aged Care. Together with Alan Walker Village retirement living next door, it shows how Christian aged care providers can work side by side for great outcomes in Carlingford.”
