The Not For Profit disability and home care provider has amalgamated with Clever Care Now, formerly Nurses on Wheels.
Clever Care Now was founded more than 65 years ago, and provides in-home nursing and allied health services, transport and social programs in Sydney's St George, Sutherland Shire, and South Eastern regions.
The merger extends the footprint of Community Gateway, which has been in operation for more than 30 years. Based in Wollongong, it delivers disability and home care services in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and North Coast regions of NSW.
Deborah De Santis (pictured), CEO of Community Gateway, said, "I'm delighted to announce that Sydney-based Not For Profit aged care provider Clever Care Now has joined the Community Gateway family.
"Clever Care Now shares our vision of assisting people to live independently and with dignity, in their own homes.
"We are super excited about the growth opportunities provided by this amalgamation and look forward to working together to achieve great things for our clients, staff, organisation and communities."
The Illawarra is experiencing some of the worst aged care shortages in the country. A draft report by the Community Industry Group seen by The Weekly SOURCE earlier this year showed only 25 aged are beds were added in the region in the last decade, and 1,025 new residential aged care beds are needed.
