ACSL Property and Colliers handle sale of shut Catholic Healthcare home
The faith-based Not For Profit announced the closure of St Francis Aged Care home in Grafton in NSW's Northern Rivers region in October last year.
Catholic Healthcare said, when announcing the closure, the aged care home is "no longer suitable for the future care needs of the community".
Now Shane Nicholson, Director of ACSL Property, has let us know that, in conjunction with Colliers, they are offering for sale the freehold interest in the former aged care facility, with vacant possession.
"Set on a substantial 6,039 sqm landholding, the property comprises a purpose-built 48-bed residential aged care facility configured as 100% single rooms with private ensuites - a rare structural advantage that materially reduces capital expenditure for refurbishment, recommissioning or adaptive reuse when compared with legacy multi-bed ward assets," Shane said.

The opportunity presents multiple value pathways for an incoming purchaser:
- Re-establish aged care operations within a well-maintained facility featuring recent interior and safety upgrades;
- Repurpose for key worker, emergency or alternative housing uses;
- Pursue redevelopment of the site (STCA).
Expressions of interest close at 4pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 26th March 2026.
