Anne McCormack appointed Chief Executive of mecwacare

The Not For Profit Victorian aged care provider has announced that Anne McCormack will take over from Michele Lewis as Chief Executive from 11 September. 

Anne has experience in leadership roles in community health, aged care, tertiary health, disability, and mental health in the community.

She spent 13 years in senior roles including Director of Operations at British Telecommunications and was Head of Global Telecommunications Solutions with Agilent Technologies (part of Hewlett Packard) for five years. She had eight years in senior roles including Executive General Manager Social Care with home care provider Silver Chain Group. Most recently, Anne spent nearly three years as Senior Executive with private hospital group Healthscope.

Michele Lewis will be departing mecwacare on 11 September after 17 years with the company.

Michele helped grow mecwacare to encompass 18 aged care facilities, six retirement villages, and three affordable housing communities. mecwacare also provides disability and home care services throughout Victoria.

Michele will take long service leave before officially leaving mecwacare, and has said she would like to return to working in aged care, mecwacare told The SOURCE.

“Ms Lewis is confident that Ms McCormack will carry on her great work and build on the wonderful achievements of mecwacare’s history. mecwacare wishes Ms Lewis all the best in her endeavours and thanks her for her dedication, effort, and passion over the years,” mecwacare said.

The SOURCE: mecwacare told The SOURCE that Michele has expressed a desire that her next role in aged care requires a “significantly lower time commitment”, indicating the challenges and high level of commitment inherent in the Chief Executive role.
