Fronditha Care adopts Telstra Health’s e-prescribing technology

1 min read

Not For Profit aged care provider Fronditha Care has adopted Telstra Health’s medication management technology, MedPoint, as the Federal Government looks to drive the uptake of electronic National Residential Medication Charts (eNRMC) across the sector.

Telstra Health developed MedPoint to help aged care facilities, prescribers and pharmacists easily manage the eNRMCs.

Information captured in MedPoint filters straight into resident records in Telstra Health’s clinical and care management solution, Clinical Manager, reducing the risks associated with having to input medication or allergy information into two separate systems.

Fronditha Care’s Thornbury Manager – Residential Care, Ralph Rodrigo, said: “For us, having one system that would manage our medication and clinical data was our priority, our Board recognised the importance of a holistic system so that all our resident data is in the one place.”

Telstra Health’s Head of Aged Care, Michael Donnelly, said: “Our Medication Management solution helps ensure the safe administration of around 500,000 medications across Australia each day, and we’re proud to offer MedPoint as an extension of this comprehensive solution.”

MedPoint was recently recognised with the Merit award in the Business & Industry Solutions category at the Victorian iAwards. Michael said the team is looking forward to seeing MedPoint progress to the National Awards next month.
