WA Government doubles capacity at regional aged care facility

Dongara Health Centre, which is 351km north-northwest of Perth, is open for business after a $9.86 million upgrade, which includes doubling the capacity of its aged care facility – Blake House.

The aged care component was completed with the assistance of Commonwealth support.

Blake House has expanded from six beds to 12, and now includes a dedicated palliative care suite.

Agricultural Region MLC Sandra Carr said, “The Dongara Health Centre is a vital facility for our region and these significant upgrades will ensure it meets the needs of our community.

“Importantly, the residential aged care unit now has double the number of beds and access to a palliative care suite.”
