Most aged care leaders will have the ambition to drive change within their organisations, but following years of reform, do they have the energy to continue pushing forward and will the framework of the new Aged Care Act facilitate it?
Five aged care leaders gathered recently to discuss the future of aged care at a Westpac Leading Conversations at the Whart lunch, hosted by Westpac and DCM Group, and addressed this question and others.
The event brought together sector leaders, including:
- Sandra Hills OAM, CEO of Benetas
- Matthew Filocamo, Group CEO of For Purpose Aged Care Australia
- Faye Spiteri OAM, CEO of Fronditha Care
- Caroline Lee, CEO of Leecare
- Brian Wong, Executive Manager – Health, Westpac
The discussion was facilitated by Chris Baynes, CEO of DCM Group, alongside DCM Institute Executive Director James Wiltshire.
The aim of the session was to get leaders talking about change and what transformation will be required to meet the wave of Baby Boomers entering the aged care system - and if the sector is ready.
DCM Group is advocating for Plan T – Transformation, a sector-wide shift where leaders identify bottlenecks, address inefficiencies, and share solutions that can be scaled across the industry.
