Anglicare NSW South village in Goulburn, NSW, receives Govt funding for repainting

Anglicare’s NSW South Wollondilly Gardens Retirement Village in Goulburn, in the NSW Southern Tablelands, will receive a new paint job thanks to $22,168 in funding from the State Government.

The 76-unit village around 200km southwest of Sydney, home to more than 100 residents aged between their 50s and 90s, will in the first stage of the project repaint 18 brick villas originally built in 1997.

According to Goulburn state MP and Minister for Local Government Wendy
Tuckerman (pictured), the NSW Government is glad to help with the repainting.

“When this project was initially quoted it was significantly higher than expected and management decided to undertake a staged approach to get the job done.

“I’m so pleased that they approached me for assistance through the NSW Premier Dom Perrottet to enable Stage 1 of the project. Wollondilly Gardens are an important facility in Goulburn and I’m so pleased to be able to assist,” she said.

Tracey Walsh, Manager for Anglicare NSW South (Retirement Villages), has expressed the gratitude of residents and staff for the funding.

“This project is so welcomed by our residents and I have no doubt that the improved facilities will be truly appreciated,” she told the Goulburn Post.

Wollondilly Gardens was in 2021 among the first villages to be awarded Australian Retirement Village Accreditation Scheme (ARVAS) accreditation.
