An innovative three step program designed to assist and protect everyone involved in a retirement village affected by dementia has been developed by Alzheimers Australia NSW and consulting firm One Fell Swoop.
It addresses the challenges of residents living with dementia in a village with a range of tools, for the benefit of operators and residents.
For example it addresses appropriate screening processes during admission of new residents for suitability while complying with the Anti Discrimination Act.
Staff education and skill upgrades to equip supporting residents living with dementia are also covered.
The programs are conducted by Dr Andrew Fleming (pictured) from One Fell Swoop who has close to 20 years experience in village operations. For more information click HERE.
