The Not for Profit Perth-based organisation has announced Elizabeth Carr as its incoming board chair.

Elizabeth joined the Amana Living board in May 2025 with extensive experience across government, major technology and infrastructure projects, education, and Not for Profit leadership including aged care.

She also chairs the Waste Authority, North Regional TAFE, St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, and several audit and risk committees across WA and NSW.

“Amana Living is already a leader in quality and innovation, and my focus will be on steering the development of the 2027 strategic plan to ensure we continue to evolve in line with the needs and expectations of older West Australians,” Elizabeth said.

Amana Living Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Buckland said Elizabeth’s leadership would be instrumental in guiding Amana Living’s major strategic work over the next 18 months.

“Our 2027 strategy will focus on technology transformation, expanding home care, modernising our residential aged care and retirement living communities, and ensuring long‑term financial sustainability. Elizabeth’s vast governance experience and passion for strengthening community services will be invaluable as we continue this important work,” Stephanie said.

Amana Living operates more than 25 retirement living and residential aged care sites as well as home care and respite services and group activity and day clubs across Western Australia.

The appointment comes amid existing strategic activity. The Weekly SOURCE reported on 2 March that Amana Living was selling the Wollaston Court Retirement Village in Albany to fellow West Australian Not For Profit Juniper. Amana Living already transferred its Kalgoorlie service to Respect last year.

Elizabeth will commence as chair on 13 April 2026. She replaces Sue Wilson, who concludes her term after nine years of service on the board, including four-and-a-half years as chair and two years as deputy chair.
