ANMF canvassing aged care staff on appointment of infection control leads in facilities

1 min read

With aged care homes due to appoint an Infection and Prevention Control (IPC) lead by today, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) is evidently on the hunt for facilities that have not met the deadline.

You can check out the short survey here.

It asks aged care workers if a designated person for infection prevention and control been employed at their facility and if there are plans to put in place such a person.

The Royal Commission had recommended mandatory infection prevention and control for aged care homes as part of their accreditation in its special COVID report.

Today was also the deadline for the Federal Government to report on the progress of all six recommendations contained in the report which it had agreed to take up.

Given there has so far been no word on whether this report has been provided to Parliament, expect to hear more on both of these fronts.
