Applications for places and capital grants open this weekend for the 10,000 new places announced by the Federal government. The placements cover community care and aged care. ACAA CEO Rod Young has been reported as saying the new allocation is a concern because the industry already has about 10,000 vacant places and there isn't sufficient demand. Additionally the cost of creating a new high care place is reported that $200,000.
