ACSA CEO John Kelly has engaged all the connections of his colleague Judy Martin in the international care community to build a remarkable stable of speakers for the ACSA National Conference in Melbourne, which kicks off on Sunday. Twelve international experts will review what has happened with care in their countries. They include three speakers from England and one from each of Germany, Malta, Switzerland, Malaysia, South Africa, USA, Ireland, the Netherlands and Canada. Jeff Kennett is the plenary speaker.
In the UK not-for-profit care operators have been severely challenged by Consumer Directed Care - which commences here in Australia next August. This new business environment will mean the consumer will have greater choice and control of how and where money is spent. The complexity of broker models, often discussed as the way forward, will be a main feature of conference.
