The Charles Sturt Council has seen a rapid increase in its over-55 population, having risen 28% between the 2001 and 2011 census – an extra 3700 people. In response, Hindmarsh Development Australia has lodged revised plans for a $28 million retirement village at Royal Park, branded Vivanti (pictured).

It will be 90 apartments in a four story complex, along with 12 single-storey villas plus parking for 119 cars. West Lakes shopping centre, the lake and beach. Made it an ideal location for a retirement village. “There are a lot more leisure activities in this area than other places in Adelaide,” he added.
