Assessors from the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency found the Latrobe Private Nursing Home in Alphington was lacking in 30 of its 44 performance standards. Meals were inadequate, emergency doors were locked, medications not properly managed, wounds were left untreated and there was a shortage of staff with appropriate skills. They were told they would lose their approved provider status if an administrator was not appointed for six months plus they would receive no federal subsidies for new residents for six months.
