Australia’s largest community based operator, IRT, increased revenue by 23% in 2011

NSW’s Illawarra Retirement Trust (IRT), increased revenue by 22.8% to $131M in FY2011. The surplus (or profit) was $18.3M while cash reserves grew 47% to $40M. They invest 33% of the surplus in benevolence projects like affordable housing options. The area of greatest growth was in-home care with 3,500 clients. They now have 2,000 staff. They also operate the IRT College for seniors related studies, which had 94 graduates last year.
