Australia Unity has received Federal Government funds to add a carer’s respite centre at its Constitution Hill village and aged care facility in Sydney. The centre gives carers a day’s break from caring while on-site professionals look after their frail and aged loved ones. The carers also get attention and advice from psychologists and others, to help them cope. There are 30 of these pilot schemes across Australia.
