A survey of 320 village operators by Grant Thornton has revealed that operators believe reputation of the village is the top factor in attracting potential residents, followed by affordability. The swimming pool was ranked 14th and bowling green 17th. Reputation was not defined but one assumes it is positive word of mouth from existing residents, telling their friends their village is a good place to be.
