Following the success of their five-star Kew Gardens aged care facility, with Super Suites commanding bonds of $1.5 million, Australian Aged Care Group (AACG) has announced plans to build Kensington Gardens in South Yarra, an $80 million project featuring 79 suites. Each suite will be more than 60 sqm across six levels on the 0.8 ha site. The Matthies family, led by Keith Matthies, has been in the aged care sector for 40 years, commencing with the Canterbury Nursing Home in 1966. They have also built the 90 resident five-star low and high care Banfields facility in regional Cowes. His son John now leads the group while his parents reside now in Kensington Gardens.
