Kallangur Village Meets Market Need: Marshall

‘New Village for Older Residents,’ The Westerner Online, August 13, 2008.

A new village at Kallangur, north of Brisbane, is set to help curb the problem of housing affordability for retirees, its developer says. The model for Kallangur Village – officially opened last week – evolved from research undertaken by the Gold Coast’s No Limit Group into delivering secure and affordable community living for retirees that doesn’t compromise on quality or lifestyle. No Limit Group CEO John Marshall said while the retirement village industry currently focused on middle to upper income retirees, Kallangur Village offered affordable housing options. “There’s great facilities here with a bowls club and the Norths Leagues Club right on the main road. And being close the shops and other facilities, we think its great value,” he said. Twelve of the centre’s 108 units, priced from $148,000, were sold on its opening day.
