One of the industrys best known and respected executives, Loretta Byers, retired on New Years Eve as CEO of Village Care, the village management and advisory firm that she built from scratch to represent over 30 retirement villages. She and husband Ben are finally leaving full time employment meaning Loretta may still be available as a consultant to the industry. Loretta was first a Director of Nursing in a care facility in 1975. She and Ben then purchased and operated a 103 bed care facility in 1980 before selling in 1987 to enter the village sector. Loretta has been the go to person for most new executives in the industry seeking advice which has always been given freely. She has been recognised as a Life Member of the RVA. Loretta states that they will spend some time this year returning to Nashville (USA) to enjoy their passion for country music.
