The Victorian Government regulated Supported Residential Service (SRS) facility Mentone Gardens, which provides respite and care, has appointed an administrator, with $4M in debts. It appears that bonds were not placed in trust accounts and bonds ranging from $150,000 to $400,000 are reported to have been lost. This leaves the residents with challenges in funding new care placements. Consumer groups are questioning the oversight role of the Victorian government.
