You will struggle to find a minister who has spent more time in aged care facilities, dealing with the various stakeholders involved, Mark Butler told industry stakeholders at the annual ACSA conference in Hobart this week.
Butlers appearance at the conference was a departure from the industrys relationship with the Ministry over the last few years and he impressed delegates by taking questions from the audience after his speech.
Setting the tone for his relationship with the industry, Butler said he wouldnt rubber stamp everything produced by the PC but talked of a reform process and the need for a cohesive response, from all stakeholders, to the recommendations produced.
