Following the 5 year saga of the Karrinyup Lakes village where extreme bullying of residents and flouting building approvals was exposed, the WA Government has approved new laws that ban any person convicted of a serious offence, found involuntary insolvent or struck off as a company director. The tribunal powers have also been clarified on making orders to complete works promised to residents in contracts. In the Karrinyup Lakes case the operator, Moss Glades, was ordered to repay $545,000 and eventually went into liquidation.
