NZ’s largest village operator, Ryman, is due to complete its first Australian village in Melbourne’s Wheelers Hill next March. The aged care component is due to open in June. They have approximately 48 ILU pre-sales six month before opening, exceeding their targets, prompting them to search for new Melbourne sites.
They see Victoria as being larger than New Zealand where they have 6,464 village units and care beds and land bank for 2,516 units and 2,295 beds. This year their share price has risen 72% and earnings rose 22% for the half year.
They have a $250 million debt facility available for development.
