Following last year Auditor-Generals scathing report on the way the country's 715 rest homes were monitored - New Zealand rest home auditors will have to be approved by an international agency, after changes announced this week. The Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) and the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) were chosen as third party accreditation bodies to accredit New Zealand's rest home audit agencies.
