Allegations of substandard care at an aged care home at Mount Isa in north-west Queensland have lead to the facility being investigated by The Aged Care Complaints Investigation Scheme (ACCIS). The Department of Health and Ageing says concerns about Laura Johnson Home (LJH) home were raised for the first time with ACCIS on Monday. An audit has already been done and a department report is expected to be within the next three weeks.
No excuse for providers to not be ready on 1 November: Aged Care Minister Sam Rae
Aged Care Minister Sam Rae has told ABC radio the Aged Care Rules have been in place for “a significant amount of time” and the Government has been listening to and supporting to the sector, “so, there really isn’t an excuse from any provider to not be prepared for 1 November”.
