The largest providor of aged care beds on the Fraser Coast has withdrawn its application for 40 additional beds, saying they are not financially viable under the governments funding. With 69.1 beds per 1000 people over 70, compared to the national target of 86.8, it is 20% below where it should be as southern immigrants continue to move to Noosa, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.
