Resthaven Announces New Aged Care Facility for Mt Gambier

1 min read

Resthaven this week announced it will develop a new residential aged care facility for 60 people in Mt Gambier. Last Week, the Federal Government allocated 15 low and 45 high care places to the Uniting Church’s aged care organisation, along with a $6 million loan. Resthaven's chief executive Richard Hearn says it is a reflection of the south-east's ageing population. "Resthaven have been operating in the south-east, in Naracoorte and Millicent and Mount Gambier, on a community care basis in people's homes, and we've been aware that there's going to be a growing demand for people in residential care as well," he said.
