A five-storey retirement village is part of an innovative, $45 million plan to reinvigorate Adelaide’s west. A two-storey medical clinic, 90-place childcare centre and swimming centre were also included in the proposal put to West Torrens Council Tuesday night. If passed, construction at the Thebarton Oval precinct will begin in April 2010 and be completed in September of the following year. Funding is expected to come from the West Torrens Council, public-private partnerships, the state and federal government and sporting associations; Adelaide United looking to develop state-of-the-art training facilities at the site.
