Claremont and SouthPoint Aged Care Limited is submitting plans to build a 4 story tower in the rear of the old St Vincent’s Boys Home at 237 Cecil Street, South Melbourne. Previously an orphanage, the Boys Home has been much in the news in the past few years over a Christian Brother committing multiple sexual acts with boys in the 1970’s, but he was acquitted in a second trial. The Brumby Government purchased the site for $5.7M stating it wanted a Not For Profit to build a care facility.
