A quiet achiever in QLD, Southern Cross Care, has completed the first stage if its redevelopment of its first care facility site in Holland Park. A bold move by CEO Peter Bell (pictured) given its location and being a vertical development in a traditionally working class suburb (but 8 KL from the CBD), the new Duhig Village is a 142 room four level facility that replaces Archbishop Duhig Court Hostel & Nursing Home. With the transfer of 80 residents from the old facility to the new plus the local demand, the new building already has a waiting list for all standard beds. The 36 bed top floor Extra Services level is filling with bonds approaching $500K. The facility y was opened (and blessed) by Archbishop XXX.
